The 15th IET International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives
PEMD Global 2026
13 - 15 April 2026 | London, UK
Over 170 engineers, academics and industry professionals attended PEMD Global 2026 – the 15th edition of the conference.
Three days of learning and connection started with an overview of the UK's semiconductor market and finished with an Industry Panel: Managing the skill shortage.
Over the course of the conference, attendees took part in peer-reviewed technical papers, interactive panels, networking activities, including a rejuvenating early morning stroll along the Thames and engaged with 10 sponsors and exhibitors.
Attendees heard insight from thought leaders including DSIT, GE Vernova, CTIO, Siemens, Rolls Royce, APC, CSA Catapult, Maersk, PNDC, COMSOL, AEM and MTC.
Major topics debated during the conference included, what is the UK good at and how can it create impact in PEMD? Grid‑friendly solutions for decentralised drive, power converters and electrical drives: where are the emerging opportunities? Power system stability with a high penetration of inverter based resources and synchronous Grid Forming HVDC: Stabilising Evolving Grids Through Enhanced Resilience.
